Arnys Corduroy Forestière Jacket
Arnys Corduroy Forestière Jacket
Founded in 1933, Arnys of Paris was an independent luxury men’s clothier known for its extraordinarily fine products embodying the classic Rive Gauche style, until the maison was acquired by Berluti and ended its business in 2012. Since then Arnys products have become ever more precious and collectible to those who love menswear.
The Forestière needs no introduction — the icon of Arnys in particular and Rive Gauche style in general. Originally custom-made for the great Le Corbusier — one of the many prominent clients of Arnys — the jacket borrows inspirations from the trustworthy workwear favored by hunters and rangers in Sologne (hence the name) and also from the Japanese kimono-style men’s robe. Overtime the jacket has barely deviated from its Platonic ideal form — the band collar, three patch pockets, generous fit, and elbow patches. It is imperative not to miss this most sought-after sartorial holy grail.
