Charvet by Aquascutum Tweed Balmacaan Coat
Charvet by Aquascutum Tweed Balmacaan Coat
Charvet was established in 1838 in Paris as the world’s first shirt shop. Its reputation soon grew high and wide, claiming royalty, statesmen, and many other luminaries as patrons. Like Hôtel Ritz just across the street, Charvet, known for offering the finest men’s shirts and ties in the world, has long become an institution of Place Vendôme.
This beautiful Balmacaan coat was made for Charvet by Aquascutum when the latter was still one of the best makers of traditional coats in the world. This vintage Aquascutum is made from a robust, dense tweed nowhere to be found nowadays.
