Charvet was established in 1838 in Paris as the world’s first shirt shop. Its international reputation soon grew, with illustrious customers including royalty and presidents. Like Hôtel Ritz just across the street, Charvet, known for offering the finest men’s shirts and ties in the world, has long become an institution of Place Vendôme.

The silk knot cufflinks, inspired by the Turk’s Head sailing knot, were created by Charvet in the early 20th century as a low-key and practical substitute for the traditional metal cufflinks. They have been a perennial darling of Charvet’s Place Vendôme shop for more than a century.
