Luca Avitabile Pique Polo Shirt
Luca Avitabile Pique Polo Shirt
Beautiful long-sleeved "Friday" polo shirt from Italian bespoke shirt-maker Luca Avitabile, designed by menswear arbiter Simon Crompton of the Permanent Style. Words from Crompton:
"A long-sleeved luxury polo shirt produced in collaboration with bespoke Neapolitan shirtmaker Luca Avitabile.
Designed to sit perfectly under tailoring, the Friday Polo has a collar stand like a dress shirt, and is cut high - enabling it to roll outside the jacket collar and not slip underneath it.
It also has a relatively slim body and high armhole, and is cut long, like a regular shirt, in order to stay tucked in.
The shirt is hand cut in a Naples atelier, with five aspects also sewn by hand: buttonholes, (mother of pearl) buttons, gussets, ends of the cuff placket, and hand-inserted sleeves.
It uses a beautiful mid-weight cotton piqué from Caccioppoli that makes it ideal for wearing most of the year, under different weights of jacket.
The shirt is pre-washed, and so should not shrink. Wash cool and line dry.
Soft and pliable, comfortable and yet elegant, the Friday Polo is a new sartorial staple. "
