Old England / Chester Barrie Cashmere Jacket
Old England / Chester Barrie Cashmere Jacket
Old England had been a bridgehead of English elegance in Paris since the nineteenth century. Before its door at No. 12 Boulevard des Capucines was permanently closed a few years ago, Old England was the place in Paris to go for anyone who had on his mind the choicest tweed, flannel and cashmere clothing from across the Channel.
This jacket was made by Chester Barrie — what used to be the finest ready-to-wear tailoring workshop (which also had a Savile Row presence) on the British Isles that represented the highest rigor of English workmanship. Chester Barrie was also behind the many fabulous suits and jackets of Arnys, Ralph Lauren Purple Label, and other premium brands.
