The Andover Shop Patchwork Tweed Jacket
The Andover Shop Patchwork Tweed Jacket
The Andover Shop is a traditional American clothier that has been offering the finest menswear to New England elites — scholars, artists and statesmen alike — since its establishment in 1948 in Andover, and then in Cambridge. It is today among only a handful of independent clothiers that stand by a style, “the Ivy Style”, that embodies the traditional American elegance.
This patchwork tweed jacket is legendary. The Andover Shop would occasionally sew patches of leftover tweed up, in an apparently whimsical yet cohesive fashion, into cloth that reminds one of the palette of the New England landscape. Items, including this jacket, made by the Andover Shop from such one-of-a-kind fabric are so rare and that they become highly sought-after collectibles.
This particular jacket is of the classical Ivy Style: Natural shoulders, three-roll-two lapel, dartless front, and a single central vent.
